"Hiking the Appalachian Trail"

Dr. Al Patrick, retired Dean of the College of Business at EKU, will discuss his experience hiking the 2175-mile Appalachian National Trail, from Georgia to Maine. This session will be hosted by the Eastern Kentucky University Retirees Association and it will be open to alumni and students as well as current and former faculty. Shuttle rides will be provided to and from the King Buffet parking lot to Walnut Hall for those who also wish to attend the “Favorite Memories of EKU: A Panel Discussion” at 1:30 p.m. This presentation will be held at the King Buffet on 650 Eastern Bypass from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.

“Favorite Memories of EKU: A Panel Discussion”

Start Homecoming events a day early and arrive to campus in time to join the EKU Society of Foundation Professors presentation. Four ‘veteran’ EKU Professors, along with our new president will reflect on the university in the 1960’s, 1970’s, 1980’s and 1990’s. Each panelist will spend 10 minutes or so relating some of his/her favorite and most vivid memories of what EKU was like 20 or 30 or 40 years ago. Panel members include Bill Berge, Professor Emeritus of History; Amy King, Foundation Professor of Mathematics; Glen Kleine, Retired Professor of Communication and Dean of Applied Arts and Technology; Paul Motley, Foundation Professor of Physical Education; and EKU’s new president, Doug Whitlock. This panel is being moderated by Paul Blanchard, Foundation Professor of Political Science and Executive Director of Government Relations.
